Verifying the Alcatel SpeedTouch USB Settings on a Macintosh

Go to Apple, Control Panels, Modem

Connect via: Alcatel SpeedTouch USB

Modem: Alcatel SpeedTouch USB

Sound: Off

Dialing: Tone

Check: Ignore dial tone

Go to Apple, Control Panels, TCP/IP

Connect via: PPP

Configure: Using PPP Server

Name server addr.: 1.2.3.4 and 1.0.0.0

 

 

Go to Apple, Control Panel, and select Remote Access

Name: Bellsouth User ID

Password: Bellsouth Password

Number: 1  (ONE)

Click Connect

 You should hear a chime when it connects and will see Send and Receive status

Options are not necessary but look like this:

Check: Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications so client only has to open Internet Explorer (Auto-Connect)
