Ethernet cards using a static IP

Access the Network
Properties inside the control panel

Double click the
Ethernet card ( NIC ) to open it's properties, as seen above where an Intel
NIC is used.

Then on the IP Address
tab you must check the Specify an IP address radio button. Next assign
TCP/IP the required static IP address 10.0.0.1 and subnet mask.

| Now you need click on the
Gateway tab and add the assigned static IP address 10.0.0.138 in the new
gateway field before clicking on the add button. Be sure the window on the
customers PC looks like this one above. |

| Be sure you click the "OK" button on
the bottom of both open network windows.
You must restart your computer after making and
saving these changes to your network properties. to take effect.

If everything is OK so
far.....next you will need try the ping test to the newly assigned gateway
IP address 10.0.0.138
